TWIN FALLS – Burley FFA members attended the 2012 Idaho FFA State Leadership Convention held April 11-14th held at the College of Southern Idaho. Members received numerous awards that recognized their hard work and effort to do their best in school, our community and FFA.
Those who received individual awards and recognition are; Mauro Analco – State Star in Agri-Placement, Kelsey Rodgers – 9th individual in Floriculture and represented the Burley FFA as a Delegate Committee Chairman. Jake Lake also received high recognition and honor as the retiring 2011 – 2012 State FFA President.
Proficiency Winners: Dakota Searle – Ag Mechanics Energy Systems, Carson Lott – Ag Mechanics Design and Fabrication, Mauro Analco – Forage Production, Slade Beck – Specialty Crop Production, these awards will be forwarded to the National FFA for consideration at the national level. Chad Searle was also recognized as Gold in Diversified Ag Production.
State Degrees: Maro Analco, Brandon Bean, Nathaniel Brown, Kord Carpenter, M’Kenzee Condie, MacGreggor Harman, Presley Hobson, Jakson Knopp, Carlee Larson, Carson Lott, Cristian Magallon, Jasper Moser, Kelsey Rodgers, Bretin Sanders, Dakota Searle, Zach Searle.
American Degrees are the highest degree attainable of active FFA membership, and only half of 1% of the total National FFA membership receives this high honor. During the 2011 National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana these Burley FFA members were recognized; Kilyann Brown, Paetyn Leigh Condie, Ethan Parkin, and Cole Peterson.
Scholarship Recipients: Kelsey Rogers received the Tesnohlidek WLC Scholarship of $1,400 and Jake Lake received the National FFA MetLife Foundation Scholarship of $2,000.
The Burley FFA Chapter received several awards, including 100% Membership, Idaho in Action Service Award – this is an award given to recognize FFA chapters that give back to their communities through service, and a Gold National Chapter Award – the national chapter award recognizes the top 10% of chapters who are active in Student Development, Chapter Development and Community Development; this award will be forwarded to the National FFA for consideration at the national level.
