2:39 a.m. – DUI violation, Christopher Lee Taft, 32, Rupert, arrested, westbound on Main Street from Overland Avenue. Call was made by motorist who reported nearly being hit by subject.

3:31 a.m. – Female subject called and reported that a male subject refused to leave her home.

4:01 a.m. – Officer checking a male subject in a hoodie at 1300 Overland Avenue, Burley.

6:05 a.m. – Officer initiated on view incident; cleared status.

6:24 a.m. – Officer initiated traffic stop at 701 N. Overland, Burley. Cleared.

6:26 a.m. – Security check, 702 N. Overland, Burley.

6:46 a.m. – Security check, 1209 E. Main Street, Burley.

6:56 a.m. – 911 hang-up call. Spoke with woman who said she did not realize she had dialed the number.

7:04 a.m. – Traffic stop, 320 Overland Avenue, Burley, cleared.

7:22 a.m. – Officer initiated traffic stop, 700 N. Overland, Burley, cleared.

7:29 a.m. – Officer transfer three inmates to Snowville for pickup. Resolved.

7:35 a.m. – Officer attempted warrant service at 725 E. 16th Street, Burley.

7:36 a.m. – Traffic stop; Luz Alicia Aragon-Tenorio, 43, Wendell, cited for invalid status. Vehicle tagged, 1500 Park Avenue, Burley.

7:59 a.m. – Security Check, 1209 Main Street, Burley.

8:07 a.m. – Traffic stop; Stefan Pappa, 28, Gooding, seatbelt infraction, Bedke Blvd., Burley.

8:21 a.m. – Traffic stop: Spencer J. Robertson, 35, Heyburn, failure to provide proof of insurance, 3rd and Overland, Burley.

8:29 a.m. – Traffic Stop; 2300 Overland, Burley; Nicholas P. Greenwell, 42, Oakley, cited for permitting unauthorized person to drive.

8:29 a.m. – Officer did a case follow-up on Hiland Avenue; case solved.

8:35 a.m. – Officer initiated traffic stop; 21 St an Overland Avenue; case resolved.

8:58 a.m. – 911 prank call; open line transferred from Minidoka County; unable to call back.

9:10 a.m. – Officer initiated traffic stop; Sydney L. Grant, 27, Rupert, cited for insurance infraction.

9:17 a.m. – Warrant served; Maurisio Juarez, 19, Rupert, taken into custody.

9:23 a.m. – Traffic stop; Annette S. Roth, 47, Rupert, cited for speeding.

9:32 a.m. – Civil paper service; status cleared.

9:51 a.m. – Officer called to 100 South 275 West, cows out on the road; resolved.

10:44 a.m. – A woman came into the sheriff’s office to find out what the laws about animal abuse are so she knows if her complaint is valid.

10:48 a.m. – 911 hang-up call; unable to call back.

10:54 a.m. – Officer initiated traffic stop; verbal warning issued; Park Avenue and Railroad, status cleared.

10:55 a.m. – 911 hang-up call; contact info gathered and brought to LE.

11:01 a.m. Officer initiated traffic stop; 883 South Hwy. 77, Albion; citation issued; no names on report.

11:37 a.m. – Dispatch received a call that an elderly woman appeared to be lost and may have dementia. Family member was located. Status cleared.

11:40 a.m. – paper served.

11:41 a.m. – Agency assist; Cotterell Port of Entry.

11:45 a.m. – Civil paper service; resolved.

11:45 a.m. – Traffic stop, MP 18 Hwy 77, Albion; Marshall Glen Worthington, 39, Murtaugh, expired driver’s license; cleared.

11:49 a.m. – Traffic stop; Bedke Blvd and Overland Avenue; verbal warning given, resolved.

11:52 a.m. – Paper service; resolved.

11:53 a.m. – Death investigation; male subject shot self.

12:20 p.m. – Traffic stop;  1200 Normal Avenue; Danny Henderson, 38, Burley, cited for failure to obey stop sign.

12:26 p.m. – Officer out on traffic stop on Sublett Road; cannot read license plates on vehicle; two occupants. Clear status.

13:54  p.m. –  Officer responded to two vehicle crash at Z Street and 21st in Heyburn; relayed to Minidoka County.

14:23 p.m. – Walk-in complaint. Male filed harassment report.

14:25 p.m. – Reporting party filed a report that his vehicle had been egged during the night.

14:50 p.m. – A Burley woman brought in two garbage bags with prescription medicine in them. She told dispatch that the medication was from her deceased uncle, who was living with his parents. She requested the medication be disposed of.

15:24 p.m. – Officer initiated traffic stop; Main Street and Almo Avenue; Elizabeth Schenk, 32, Paul, cited for failure to show proof of insurance.

15:43 p.m. – Caller reported dogs at large, wanted call back about leash laws.

16:25 p.m. -  Warrant service; possession of drugs, drug paraphernalia, resisting officer, obstruction of justice, Christopher J. Paskett, 19, Burley, arrested.

16:36 p.m. – Officer sent to investigate trespassing charge.

17:09 p.m. – George R. Clark, cited for failure to show proof of insurance, traffic stop at 700 W. 16th St., Burley.

17:37 p.m. – Caller reported a male subject court-ordered to stay at facility had walked away. Last seen wearing Red Hoodie, jeans and black boots. May be headed for bus or taxi.

18:42 p.m. – Caller reported receiving a call from male who left facility. He is at a local motel.

19:31 p.m. – Traffic stop; Oscar A. Aragon, 22, Wendell, charged for driving without privileges, fifth offense;  subject arrested.

20:11 p.m. – Caller reported four black cows out on road; cannot be seen until you are right on them; officer responded. Status cleared.

20:43 p.m. – Caller reported a wheel line blocking road at 500 South 550 East, Burley.

20:56 p.m. – Caller reported a large tree is blocking the roadway at 525 South 50 West, Burley.

21:01 p.m. – Caller reported power lines down and hanging dangerously close to the road; power companies were notified.

21:15 p.m. – Motorist assist; vehicle ran off freeway into median at MP 3, i-86; did not roll; Towing company able to get car back on road.

21:14 p.m. – Caller reported that 300 East Road in Minidoka County was totally blocked by wheel lines. Minidoka County Sheriff’s Office notified.

21:21 p.m. – Caller reported several power poles down on 1500 West and 1000 South; another pole looks like it is ready to snap. It will completely block the road if that happens. City officer responded as both county deputies were busy on other calls.

21:28 p.m. – Officer checking on power pole report notified dispatch that he was leaving the situation in the hands of power company officials.

21:35 p.m. – Caller reported he ran off the road at MP 1.5 I-86. Officer is checking to see if other cars in the area have had problems.

22:35 p.m. Caller reported neighbors are gone and there is a light flickering in their home. There is a car there. Officer responded and found homeowner’s granddaughter there checking on home; notified dispatch and calling party.

22:42 p.m. – Officer stopped to check on car off the side of road. Driver told officer he was the owner of the wheel line in the field by the road. He was checking them to make certain they were tied down securely.

23:45 p.m. – Caller reported a number of roads down along 900 south at 600 West.

23:54 p.m. – Caller reported a transformer on fire on pole at 1450 South Hwy 27. ITD closing road until power company can respond.

December 31

12:36 a.m. – Caller reported numerous poles down along 1400 West between 100 South and 1300 South; Caller wanted roadway shut down until power company could respond. Murtaugh Highway District contacted.

3:02 a.m. – Caller reported UPS truck on onramp at i-84 MP 263 appear to be having some sort of trouble. Officer responded; driver has help on the way.

4:16 a.m. – Traffic stop; Julian D. Perez, 24, Burley, cited for failure to purchase driver’s license; vehicle was left in Wal-Mart parking lot.

7:34 a.m. – Caller reported finding a snowboard.

7:46 a.m. – Caller reported being attacked by two of neighbor’s dogs; this is not the first time this has happened. Officer responded and spoke with a friend of the owner, who said the owner would be home later. Officer will return with citation.

9:06 a.m. – A male walked into the sheriff’s office to report a stolen vehicle.

9:13 a.m. . – A one-vehicle rollover was reported in Steer Basin; three occupants, no injuries.

9:44 a.m. – Caller reported someone stole his dog’s kennel.

10:29 a.m. – Caller reported two dogs running around on Interstate at MP 227, I-84; message relayed to ISP.

10:59 a.m. – Traffic stop; Jess Espinosa, 46, Burley, cited for failure to show proof of insurance.

11:08 a.m. – Caller reported that his car which he has reported stolen has been returned.

11:33 a.m. – Caller reported a tree has blown down by entrance to golf course, partially blocking entrance.

13:28 p.m. – Caller reported he found a cell phone in front of his home.

15:16 p.m. – Traffic stop at 500 Overland, Burley; Alice F. Mitton, 39, Oakley, cited for speeding.

16:13 p.m. – A caller reported that her daughter and a friend were out last night with an 18 year old male who claimed to be a public safety officer.

16:18 p.m. – Caller reported a man has locked his three children out of their house; he let in two small children, but left the older ones out. Officer responded and spoke with wife; she said the back door was unlocked and children could have accessed house through that door.

16:33 p.m. – Officer called to a home on Conant Avenue in reference to a vicious dog.

16:31 p.m. – Caller reported another truck driver for Idaho Milk dragged the reporting party from his truck and hit him. He does not need an ambulance. Suspect is still in the truck yard.

16:41 p.m. – Traffic stop; Alan L. Hawker, 44, burley, cited for failure to renew registration on vehicle.

17:04 p.m. – Caller reported their neighbor is not feeding their dog; it is getting very skinny. Officer responded; no problem. Dog looks okay and owner said they feed it.

18:54 p.m. – Traffic stop; Donaldo Toledo Sixtos, 48, Burley, cited for failure to keep vehicle insured.

18:54 p.m. – Local business called that they have no power at their business; advised to call on-call electric officials.

19:31 p.m. – Traffic stop; Colton D. Reeder, 23, Moses Lake, Wn., cited for speeding.

19:50 p.m. – Traffic stop; Scott Harrison Van Lear, 24, Rupert, cited for failure to register vehicle annually.

20:03 p.m. – Traffic stop; Howard K. Merrell, 33, Paul, cited for no insurance.

20:09 p.m. – Traffic Stop; 1600 Hiland Avenue, Burley; Adelle F. Holman, 41, Burley, cited for speeding.

20:20 p.m. – Traffic stop; 100 E. Railroad Avenue, Burley; Tabitha N. Teeter, 20, Elba, cited for failure to show proof of insurance.

20:23 p.m. – Traffic stop; 415 Riverview Dr. Burley, Randy H. Okelberry, 53, Heyburn; cited for speeding.

20:24 p.m. – Caller reported losing his keys in vicinity of Burley Theater, asked to have a call if they are turned in.

20:26 p.m. – Traffic stop; 150 E. Hillcrest Lane, Burley; Emily J. Whitmore, 23, Burley, cited for failure to observe and obey stop sign.

20:35 p.m. – Caller reported his daughter had texted him and said she was locked in a room and could not leave because her husband and his friends would hurt her. Status cleared.

20:58 p.m. – Traffic stop; 200 North Overland; Doris F. Barnes, 68, Burley, cited for failure to obey stop sign.

22:43 p.m. – Caller reported house on fire at 300 South 603 East, smoke filling residence, but everyone is out.

January 1, 2012

12:08 a.m. – Caller reported someone is running around his home banging on his windows. If detained, he wants them told to stop.

12:19 a.m. – Caller reported he believes he is following a drunk driver; the driver pulled out slowly, almost ran a stop light and did run a stop sign; caller no longer following car, but is willing to write a statement. Officer responded and did not find suspect vehicle in vicinity.

12:31 a.m. – Caller said he would be coming to LE in the morning to write a report about an encounter with an officer.

12:33 a.m. – Caller asked to have an officer come check her home because she can hear voices through her vents and she thinks there is someone on her roof.

1:01 a.m. -  Caller reported a blue vehicle hit a parked GMC. Reporting party felt the driver needed an ambulance. Also believe driver is intoxicated.

1:43 a.m. – Traffic stop; 900 Overland Avenue, Burley; Nancy Guzman Salazar, 21, Twin Falls, cited for failure to purchase insurance.

2:00 a.m. – Reporting party told dispatch a brick wall behind his home has been knocked down. He is uncertain how this happened.

6:09 a.m. – Traffic stop; 100 N. Main St., Malta, Felipe Macias-Diaz, 20, Declo, charged with driving under the influence, failure to have a valid Driver’s license; failure to show proof of insurance; driver arrested.

6:22 a.m. – Reporting party advised there is a red Ford Ranger stopped along the road with the lights on. A male is in the driver’s seat and looks to be passed out. Call relayed to Sircomm. Officer delivered message to parents to contact Jerome County Deputy.

9:43 a.m. – Traffic stop; 136 E. 5th St., Burley; James R. Pahor, 42, Declo, cited for misdemeanor driving without privileges.

10:12 a.m. – Traffic Stop; 1100 Hiland Avenue, Burley; Charidee L. Ralph, 35, Burley, cited for failure to show proof of insurance.

10:24 a.m. – Caller reported someone stole some metal from him sometime yesterday afternoon.

12:14 p.m. – Reporting party said horses in Malta are being neglected. Pasture is completely grazed down. Dispatch lost contact with caller before they finished. An officer responded and said someone has dropped of some hay for them.

14:01 p.m. – Officer responded to a domestic report; male subject had left by taxi and was being taken to a home in Heyburn.

14:59 p.m. – Officer responded to a minor accident at the Burley Heyburn bridge. Lyle D. Santos, 50, Burley, cited for following too close; negative injuries.

17:01 p.m. – Caller said her 32-year-old son has beaten up the grandkids. Will wait for officer to respond. No ambulance needed.

18:54 p.m. – Traffic stop; 415 Riverview Dr. Burley; Kaleb D. Firkins, 23, Declo, cited for speeding.

19:52 p.m. – Caller reported a tan pickup at a construction site that they don’t think should be there.

21:04 p.m. – Traffic stop; 342 E. 5th N., Burley; Mark C. Flygare, 39, Heyburn, cited for failure to show proof of insurance.

22:38 p.m. – Caller reported two subject driving around probably in the Paul or Rupert area that have been drinking and doing drugs.

23:13 p.m. – Caller reported a suspicious person dressed in all black that was crawling on the south side of the train bridge.

 

January 2, 2012

12:24 a.m. – Caller reported a white Dodge pickup that slid off  Pomerelle Road. No one is around the pickup. Officer checked on status, everyone was okay.

4:14 a.m. – Caller reported a green car off side of freeway at MP 228 EB. Not sure if the driver is having problems, or hit a deer or what. ISP advised.

8:04 a.m. – Caller reported a rollover at MP 260 on I-84 EB; Driver is out walking around and says he does not need medical attention.

9:05 a.m. – Cassia Regional Medical Center personnel called. A white dog with black markings is running around by the Emergency Room doors. Dog is not mean. Caller cannot reach Animal Control because of holiday. Dispatch contacted Animal Control, they will come get dog.

10:33 a.m. – Traffic stop; 415 Riverview Drive, Burley; Adun Prisco-Munoz, 29, Rupert, cited for failure to purchase driver’s license; operating motor vehicle without insurance.

13:02 p.m. – A caller reported that a silver Suburban hit a power pole at 100 W. 5th St., in Burley, then left the scene.

14:24 p.m. – Caller said there were pieces of the old Burley Processing Plant falling on the road. An officer indicated he had removed the shingles and tar paper that blew off in the storm.

15:33 p.m.  – Officer made contact with a man cutting a tree. Per the City of Burley, the man  had permission to be there, as he was removing tree downed by storm.

16:20 p.m. -  Caller from a local convenience store reported he just noticed he received a counterfeit $5 bill sometime during the day.

17:09 p.m. – Caller said there is a male subject walking down the median of the freeway at MP 249. ISP advised.

17:17 p.m. – Caller wanting to speak with officer about her computer being stolen. She has located it and the subject is supposed to take computer to sheriff’s office.

17:57 p.m. – Female came into the lobby wanting to speak with a deputy as she has received multiple text messages threatening her life.
