8:51 a.m. – The City of Burley advised they would be turning the street light at Main and Normal off
for a short time while they repair the utility box that was hit by a car. There will be stop signs put up
temporarily while the work is being done.
9:31 a.m. – A teenager reported there is a 12-13 year old girl sitting on the large trash cans behind the
Burley Theater. She has some garbage bags with her and the reporting party is concerned that she might
be a runaway.
10:00 a.m. – A Malta man reported he hit a cow on Stanrod Road and had to have his vehicle towed
home. He needs to talk with a deputy about the incident.
10:13 a.m. – Dispatch received a call about two horses being out on the road near Jakes Over the Top,
north of Declo. Officers responded but could not find any animals on the road.
10:22 a.m. – Forest Service officials reported they will be conducting a controlled burn in Howell
Canyon. They will call when they are finished.
11:21 a.m. – A woman came into the sheriff’s office to file a report about a reckless driver she witnessed
earlier in the morning. The officer is going to try to locate the driver and speak with them about their
driving.
12:31 p.m. – Dispatch received a cell phone call from a driver on I-84 at milepost 194. She reported an
erratic driver in a white Ford pickup that was swerving all over the road and almost hit several vehicles.
The incident was referred to Idaho State Police.
13:15 p.m. – A 16-year –old female called in and wanted to speak with an officer about an aggravated
battery incident.
15:07 p.m. – A Burley man called concerned because he found a suicide note written by his son. An ATL
has been sent out and officers responded to an area in the mountains where the subject was reported to have gone,
15:36 p.m. – An officer was sent to Maverik Country Store on North Overland to investigate a gas drive-
off.
16:18 p.m. – Dispatch received a cell 911 call where they could hear a female screaming, but the phone
was hung up. Several attempts to reach the party were unsuccessful.
16:32 p.m. – A woman called to report a fight in the parking lot at the Overland Shopping Center.
A couple were throwing rocks at each other and hitting parked vehicles. When officers arrived the
altercation was verbal only.
18:30 p.m. – A Burley woman called dispatch to report a fight in progress at her home. When officers
arrived the altercation was verbal only and parties did not want to press charges.
18:50 p.m. – A Cassia Sheriff’s officer made a traffic stop at Occidental and Railroad for an improper lane change. Matthew R. Peterson, 21, Burley, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.
19:08 p.m. – A caller reported a deer hit in the road. Idaho Fish and Game was notified of a carcass
pickup issue.
21:04 p.m. – Caller reported freeway between mileposts 245 and 269 is getting slick and sanders are
needed. State Comm was called and apprised of the situation.
22:08 p.m. – A caller reported his neighbor’s dogs are barking. An officer responded. The neighbor said
he would take the dogs inside for the night.
22:22 p.m. – A woman living in the Malta area reported 25 head of weaner calves have broken out of
their pen and she needs some help rounding them up.
23:32 p.m. – A caller reported someone shot his window out with what may have been a BB gun. He was
unable to see the vehicle that passed when the incident occurred.
