Mayor’s Minute
By Oakley Mayor Georgia Dimick
HIS IS A GREAT WEEK FOR OAKLEY…
Pioneer Days in the Oakley Valley is an unforgettable time for the residents of the Oakley Valley
and all of the friends and family who come “home” for the festivities.
We want people to use the park more and have a relaxing day. Our hope is that the friends and
family who spend time in Oakley this week will bring good times and create lasting memories. Our city
pool will be open daily for people to enjoy. We have changed a few things this year, so we would like
feedback on how people like the new way of doing things.
Our week began Tuesday with the “Bump and Rub” 2nd annual event, at 5pm at the Fairgrounds,
Wednesday, July 21. The 8th annual team sorting was held that night as well.

feature the finery of all the contestants at 6 p.m. The first night of the Rodeo starts at 8 p.m., followed by
the Dance in the Park (Live Music by the Basin Boys).
