Eagle Awards

Austin Stallings Eagle Award

RUPERT – Austin Stallings, 18-year-old son of Kent and Tonya Stallings, will receive his Eagle on February 15, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. in the Acequia Church.  Austin has earned 21 merit badges.  His scout leaders are Jeff Miller and Paul Mickelsen.

Austin assembled five tables for Acequia Elementary outdoor commons area.  His troop and leaders spent thirty hours completing this project.

Austin is a senior at Minico Hugh School.  He plays varsity football and enjoys snowboarding.

 

Tanner Stallings Eagle Award

Tanner Stallings, 16 year old son of Kent and Tonya Stallings, will receive his Eagle on February 15, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. at the Acequia Church.  Tanner has earned 21 merit badges.  His leaders are Jeff Miller and Paul Mickelsen.

Tanner built a bench for the Acequia Elementary school’s play ground.  Tanner with the help of his troop and leaders spent a total of 40 hours on this project.

Tanner is a junior at Minico High School where he plays varsity football, basketball and track.

Cameron Sleight Eagle Award

RUPERT – Cameron Sleight, 18-year-old son of John and Cheryl Sleight, will receive his Eagle on February 15, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. at the Acequia Church.  Cameron has earned 21 merit badges.  He is a member of troop 153 sponsored by the Acequia 2nd ward.  His leaders are Jeff Miller and Paul Mickelsen.

Cameron built a picnic table for the Minidoka City Park for his Eagle project.  He and members of his troop also scraped and repainted other tables. They spent a total of 42 hours on this project.

Cameron is a senior at Minico High School.  He is a member of the French Club.  He is an active member of his priest’s quorum and is active in other church activities.  He is an avid reader and loves to work with animals.  After high school, Cameron will pursue a degree in veterinarian science.

Jace Thain Eagle Award

RUPERT – Jace Thain, son of Greg and Dianne Thain, will receive his Eagle on February 15, 2012 at 7:30 p.m.  This presentation will take place at the Acequia Church.  Jace is 16 years old.  He has earned 21 merit badges.  His scout leaders are Jeff Miller and Paul Mickelsen.

Jace built an outdoor bulletin board for the town of Minidoka.  Members of the community will use this to post messages.  It is on the west side of the post office.  Jace, along with members of his troop and his leaders, spent a total of 86 hours on his project.

Jace is a sophomore at Minico High School.  He enjoys playing golf, hunting, riding motorcycles, snowmobiling, and skiing.  He is a hard worker and helps on the family’s farm and dairy.  He is an active member of his priest’s quorum in the Acequia 2nd ward.
