When I was running for the position of Mayor for the City of Burley, I had many people telling me how corrupt the city government was and how it needed to be cleaned up. I must confess they were rather compelling with their impressions, and I came into this position looking for all the corruption. What I have found in my first six months of being in office has really pleased and surprised me.
They were completely wrong!
I am a person that follows the facts first and then I develop my conclusions from the facts.
The quality, talent and synergism of the city employees are very impressive. I have had the pleasure of working for and with some of the greatest people in my community wherever I have lived. I can honestly state that there have been none better to work with than the employees of Burley, Idaho.
So many things that are positive are in the process of evolving right here in the City of Burley.
There has been forethought and planning on behalf of our city administrator and prior mayors and city
council members that brought us to this most enviable situation.
We are poised to invite many opportunities to our community that will provide jobs and careers for our citizens and their children. Burley is the hot spot in the state of Idaho for economic growth. Other
communities are inquiring about our success that has happened, or is happening, here. It can be attributed to the team that is currently in place and those many others who have contributed so much in the recent past.
This experience of being mayor has brought to me the wonderful understanding of the potential of this community. Our real secret is the great people that are and have been so generous and willing to contribute their time and money to help their community become what it is today and what it is becoming
in the future.
We are a community of builders.
